I Dig This: 1920’s Jazz Cover of BABYMETAL’s Gimme Chocolate

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox performs jazz and ragtime covers of contemporary songs. One week they’ll cover Macklemore’s (I still don’t know what the hell a Macklemore is) Thrift Shop, the next they will have a sad clown sing All the Small Things by Blink 182. What I never expected them to cover was Gimme Chocolate, by Japanese Metal Idol band, BABYMETAL.

I’m notoriously known for having both an eclectic taste in music, and an incredible seething disdain for the majority of stuff that speaks to everyone else. I’d rather have my finger nails ripped off before having to listen to that one Chainsmoker’s song again, and I truly don’t understand the appeal for most of the go-to, play-this-because-this-is-what-human-people-listen-to-today, over-pasturized, over-played, impotent garbage that only gets worse as I get older.

*Heavy breathing*

I didn’t expect to take things that far.

Anyway, in case you are interested, here’s the original song that Postmodern Jukebox is covering. It’s fucking awesome.
